I was serious when I was that age, I know what you are talking about. My boyfriend bought me a necklace and I lost it. It still makes me sad. Now that I think of it, he got me a promise ring too. (I wonder what ever happened to it?) If you can afford it....go for it. It's not like you have to make a house payment and stuff. You don't have any other bills, (I assume) but think about this...how many adults still have the jewelry they got when they were 15....I wouldn't put a lot of money into it (it's the thought that counts) I have a better idea...what if you made her a necklace? That would mean so much more to her just knowing you actually made something for her. My daughter got a necklace and earing set from her boyfriend on V-day. They broke up 2 weeks later. Last time I heard, she was going to sell them. Question is...is it a good idea? Probably not if it is expensive.

Of course you can be serious at your age. That's not the issue. Why buy her a ring now? Start with the necklace. See how that goes. Don't rush into an act of commitment like a ring. It may just freak her out and push her away.

That depends on a few factors. Why do you want to buy these for her? To show affection is fine, but you shouldn't try to buy it. Also, can you afford it? Romantic gestures are great for the movies, but sometimes it pays to be practical. As far as the seriousness, people mature differently, so who am I to say you are or are not? Just remember that actions have consequences, so make sure you are ready for them. Good luck!

Sets aren't that much fun. Just get her nice earrings or a nice necklace or a nice ring, so she doesn't feel compelled to be all matchy.
Jewelry is allllways lovely, though!

depends on how long you've been dating. also make sure its simple and tasteful, something too big would look funny on someone her age. one thing for sure, a woman no matter the age loves to get diamonds. and she will love you for it. one thing to consider though, would she be embarrassed if she didn't get you an equally special gift? just a thought.

Buy her what you want, I would suggest a cubic zirconia set, not real diamonds, unless your parents are rich that is.....I think that is sweet..Go for it!!
