Yes you should go for it !! Get a henna tattoo ! Well I prefer to call it Henna Body Art. Get any design you want as well. Chinese letters no it won't be insulting as long as you know the meaning isn't rude. So make sure you know what you are writting on yourself and then get it done by a henna artist who uses 100% natural henna. You will know because they will be able to tell you ALL of the ingredients in their homemade henna paste.
Every professional henna artist makes their own henna paste.
You won't be allergic to the henna paste (the natural kind of course NEVER USE black henna unless you want a possible scar for life), but just make sure that the artist uses lavender essential oil in their paste so that there is no risk of allergic reaction.
Essential oils are the only thing that can make you allergic to the paste.

A artist will also be able to copy exactly the design you bring to them. I suggest you find one in your area and discuss this with them. It will be worth it. To find a local henna artist please visit www.HennaTribe.com

Taking a picture of what you want is exactly what the artist wants. That way he can give you exactly what you want. As for where to put it, I don't think the lower back is "sl*ty" at all. I have one there (then again I'm 38!) Put it where you want, it's temporary and if you don't like where you put it this time, put it somewhere next time. And henna has no side effects I've ever heard of. I supposed it's possible you could be allergic, but the worst that will happen is you might get a little itch or rash. Have fun with it and good luck! =)

As long as you don't get 'black henna' made with hair dye (EW) there's a low risk of a skin reaction. They aren't tattooed in like normal tattoo - it's basically dye made from a plant that stains really well.

It likely won't show up on your lower back very well. It stains best on palms and parts of the foot. It will last 1-5 weeks depending on your body's reaction to it (mine last 5 weeks, other people I know only have theirs a little over a week.)

Chinese characters in henna are kind of eh. It's not traditional, and if you don't know Chinese I don't see the point. You might have 'this end up' stuck on your body...but at least it won't be permanent.

you know those tattoos that you can get in a bubble gum machine? Well, Henna tattoos are just like them. I don't think they can make one for you, but I'm not sure. I think they only usually have certain styles that you can choose from. I wouldn't get it on your lower back at all, maybe on your shoulder? It's not harmful and there are no side effects, it's just temporary! If you want it to last longer, don't rub that area in the shower when you are bathing yourself, and don't rub the tat at all.

Hot Topic sells them, and sometimes places like Spencer will have them also. Unfortunately they are all the regular reddish brown henna, so if your skin has any red in it at all the tattoo won't show. I haven't ever found anywhere that sells the black ones like you'd get on the beach.
