there are groups on msn,, my wife is in a lot of them,, not sure of the exact names , but something like military wives and girlfriends stuff like that,, it located in the groups section,, I'm sure yahoo might have something like that to.

and as far as everyone saying FRG, i would stay away from them,, they don't help, and it's nothing but a gossip are for the officers wives and staff NCO wives from what I've seen,, i won't let my wife get pulled in to the one for my unit.

so you understand what the other responder was talking about, FRG means Family Readiness Group, formerly know as Family Support Group. Every unit should have its own FRG. They are not online. If your boyfriend is deploying he should have all the info you need, if not contact his commanding officers wife (they usually head up the FRG), thank you for supporting your boyfrined and for seeking out the support for yourself. P.S. girlfriends, friends and other family members besides the spouse are always welcome.

You're boyfriends unit should have a family support group normally it is a group made up of spouses of deployed soldiers I could not imagine his Unit not having one.

As far as I know, FRG is for families. I don't know if girlfriends count. There are many support groups for girlfriends as well though. Without knowing the branch he is in I'm not sure which group you are looking for. If you get his unit information, you could search the groups on yahoo, myspace, or msn for others like you. You could also just search for the branch (Marines, Navy, or whatever) girlfriends groups on those sites.

An on-line FRG? Not off the top of my head. . .
Is there something about the FRG you do not like?

im sorry, i know it is hard, my husband is deploying in january for his second tour in iraq. it is very hard. i do not attend FRG, alot of rumors and mean wives. if you do need someone to talk to, as i will too. be more than welcome to email me.
he will come home safe, just support him and be understadning, it is hard for them over there. Im sure you will make it alot easier for him :) good luck!

Do you live close to where he's stationed right now? If you do, you should check out the FRG.
