I have seen more than one doctor and also a chriropractor was the one who did my nerve test. I'm sorry I probably should've stated that.

A year and a half ago I fell and my rear end bounced down three stone steps. Soon afterward I had excruciating pain while sitting...and while getting up the pain would suddenly spike and I would feel like passing out. After nearly a year of this my doc suggested going on Desipramine. It is a tricyclic antidepressant. It is a metabolite of Imiprimine so it has less side effects and is often used specifically for this type of thing. In general, tricyclics are commonly used for neuropathic pain...or neuralgias. An MRI indicated that there was nerve damage and nerves take a very long time to heal. The Desipramine has saved me. I had very few side effects and adjusted to the ones I had within about six weeks. I upwardly titrated to 125 mg and now can sit in an eight-hour seminar without feeling the need to scream. The disorder I ended up with is called coccydynia (spelling?). When researching this I discovered that it is common for a woman to develop it due to vaginal childbirth. Mine is from a fall. My quality of life has really improved since getting up to the 125mg (it took me about five weeks, but a little relief started at 50mg). Don't wait any longer! Serious levels of chronic pain can really suck the life out of you and also create depression! I still have shades of pain and when I am stressed the pain is exacerbated, but most of the time the pain is well controlled.
Good luck!

Get an MRI, you will need a referral from your Dr. and approval through your insurance, I have at least 5 in my lifetime and what they found was Degenerative Disc Disease, not much they can do about it, I have alot of lower back pain from time to time. The MRI'S can be done on an outpatient basis, open or closed if you are not claustrophobic, Good Luck with results. Be persistent about so they don't just say oh you must have strained it or a pulled muscle..

Definitely go see another doctor! I suffer from low back problems in the same area of my back as you. I had to go to more doctors than I care to count and unfortunately, still am going. Once you find a doctor that believes you with your pain, they WILL give you something to help with the pain. They also will hopefully run some tests(xray,MRI,ect.)to see what the problem really is. I reccommend talking to your doctor about going to Physical Therapy. They will teach you there some exercises that may help with the pain some. Good luck and hope everything works out for you.

WOW! This is so similar to what happened to my husband as it turns out after countless x rays and such my husband has arthritis in his lower back and tail bone unfortunately they told him there was nothing that could be done but I suggest taking Aleve or some other Neproxen type of medicine since it has helped him, but you could also try seeing a chiropractor too. Arthritis can affect anyone at any age not just senior citizens.

Try consulting a Chiropractor. A good chiropractor can typically do a routine examintation to determine if your problem might be solved by manipulating your spine.
It worked great for me, resolving chronic neck pain that had gone on for two years in only 1 visit.
