I'm 33 years old and I got divorced two years ago. I'm just now getting to the place where I'm thinking about dating again. Is it cool or okay to ask a guy that you like out on a date?? If so, how do you go about asking him?? I've been out of the dating scene for about 13 years now and I could use a little help....PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!

I don't see why not. It's not like you have to walk up to them and say "Will you go out on a date with me?". Lot's of things have kind of blurred over 13 years. Dates can be considered just going out to have fun (screw the formal dressed up stuff, that's not the ONLY thing called a date now!). If you meet a guy you like, ask him if he'd like to go get a cup of coffee and talk. Or if your timing is right, ask him if he's hungry and if he'd like to grab something to eat. Just be around him. Things will happen. And yes, women can ask men out too.

Girl, this is 2006. You can do whatever you wanna do. Go for it. Ask that man out. Make it simple, almost like an after thought during conversation. You know, like "hey, I'm hungry, wanna go get something to eat?" That way, it won't seem like a date and you'll get to know each other, and maybe he'll ask you out the next time.

Listen, a guy would be flattered if you asked him out it shows confidence. Find a common interest and go off that or I've found asking out for coffee or a drink can break the ice

Absolutely. Do it innocently, like ask him for coffee or lunch. If you have a good time, he'll get the message and want to see you again. Try to avoid having sex on the table until they clear the Sweet 'n Low.

why not? i don't think there is a rule for asking someone anyways.
try like " hey are you available tonight, coz i have these tickets to so-and-so, supposedly my friend so-so plan this but unfortunately, she can't come because so-and-so. So I its a waste not to use it. So do you mind?" something like that. goodluck!

I wish more women would take the initiative. Shows me that they are really an independent person.
