Quran 2:216 "Fighting is prescribed for you (muslims), and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not." http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/002.qmt.html#002.216

Fighting is prescribed in Islam (shock wave goes through Yahoo). However, what about the people who "dislike it". After all, Muslims are human beings, so its not like every single Muslim will want to go on Jihad. Well, sorry, but its "prescribed"!

Why is it prescribed? Aw yes, this is the best part...its prescribed because "Allah knows and you know not!!!"

Ah, I see, good enough. Thanks. Clearly such logic must be from God.

Best interpretation: Allah is saying that ye shall fight even though you don't want to as a means to survive. Religion teachings go way far back and probably at the time meant for muslims to stand up against wild animals such as saber-tooth tigers, wooly mammoths, etc.

2:191] You may kill those who wage war against you, and you may evict them whence they evicted you. Oppression is worse than murder. Do not fight them at the Sacred Masjid, unless they attack you therein. If they attack you, you may kill them. This is the just retribution for those disbelievers

[2:193] You may also fight them to eliminate oppression, and to worship GOD freely. If they refrain, you shall not aggress; aggression is permitted only against the aggressors

2:194] During the Sacred Months, aggression may be met by an equivalent response. If they attack you, you may retaliate by inflicting an equitable retribution. You shall observe GOD and know that GOD is with the righteous

READ IT WITH OPEN EYES AND GET THE MEANINGS IF YOU COULD !!!! fight is for defensife purpose only.when we are attacked we shuld fight !!

wow you took one passage that was translated by a southern California school and interpreted it how you wanted to, I find a lot of passages in the Bible can be misused and misinterpreted without knowing the context of the situation and who is saying it............you should know that. You have to understand those factors because they are usually a major part of the point or direction that is being given.
