Its the taste of the wallpaper paste that they like it takes sweet. My dog did this and i wiped the wall with white vinigar and he stopped. White vinigar doesn't smell so don't worry about it stinking your room out.

Sometimes dogs eat strange things for the taste or for some strange and unknown reason. Failing that, your dogs may be bored! Step one is to keep the dogs out of a room you are renovating. If the dogs are peeling the wallpaper themselves, they are probably bored or anxious or maybe just playful and should be kept away from temptation AND provided with other entertainment. Dogs need to have something to do so if you don't provide something safe and fun, they will look elsewhere and often find something unsafe and even destructive. Try a good chew toy: my dogs like Nylabones but your dogs my prefer another. Make sure it's NOT a stuffed animal type toy as hard chewers can swallow fabric or filling and cause serious stomach problems. These are sometimes fatal, especially in dogs with large chests and small waists like boxers. A good choice might be one of the type that you can stuff with a biscuit or some peanut butter, cheese or small treats. The dog has to play with the toy to get the food and this is great to leave with a dog left alone. In your case, this would not be the best choice if the dogs are alone together and possessive or aggressive with each other regarding food. If they are left alone for long hours, you may want to have someone come in and interact with them (especially outside) while you're gone. Dogs also do things lilke this when they aren't getting enough exercise. Walking on a leash is NOT exercise for most dogs (especially large or "busy" breeds), they need to run and play OFF leash (safely, of course) and spend time "just being a dog ." A 30-40 minute workout of play with another dog will tire them out.

don't let them!! Wallpaper paste contains a fungicide which is very dangerous if it is licked or swallowed. I suggest you phone the vet for advice ASAP!

Stop them!

There is something in wallpaper paste that is highly toxic to animals. Please get them checked over by a vet as soon as you can!
