People don't know about God when they're born. Then, at some point, they chastise someone else for being disrespectful. What happens in their indoctrination, or what do they learn about God that invokes respect for him?

Obey His commandments and believe by faith that He is God, with this respect comes when you really come into the knowledge of who God REALLY is.

They come to respect God by knowing Him, knowing about what God says, and not believing what others have said or not said about God. Much lies are told about God and His word, and most walk in with preconceived notions that are so false, and just cant seemt to accept anything of GOd because of that. IF a child is beaten daily in the name of God, most will never know God. BUt, if that parent had been truly following God, the beatings would never have happened. so much falsehood out there, and the devil loves it all. Ppl receive indoctrination every day of their life from everyone around them, and hear such bullonie, that when truth comes in, its still rejected. devil does love it all.
The only way to respect God is to truly Know Him and get to Know and understand His Full word, and see it is a big puzzle that all fits together in pieces, and there are no contradictions, only needing more understanding, and it comes if we ask. God gives us life and is the only one that can take it away. All good comes from God, and all evil is of the devil. Yet most follow the devil and do as they please, not about to give up selfish desires for a mihute. and many that do accept God, the devil still gets them. they can get so deep into the manmade relgion that they cant see straight, or be taught that grace covers all sin and sin just like nonbelievers do. Grace does not cover willful sin. To know God and respect Him and be able to obey Him, means we must know His word, and ALL that He says. I pray this for everyone, and remember no sin is too big for God to forgive. Just ask. He longs to save each of us and we are all equal to God.

synonym for politeness or manners
From what Ive seen on the board, there is not much respect for God these days. Respect, in this instance, is synonymous with belief.

When someone comes to have faith in God they begin to love him and have a personal relationship with Him. So if someone you know and love was being disrespected you would feel hurt and defend that person.

What happens in their indoctrination? Come on, whole books could be written about that. It's part upbringing and part genetics. Like every other single aspect of human behavior.

WRONG everyone is born with a natural inclination towards God, we were created to need, and love Him!!!!
