The gas that is spent transporting the ethanol to gas refineries cancels out any benefit.

If you're not transporting ethanol to the refinery, then you're transporting crude. No difference.....

Brazil is pretty much self sufficient in oil due to their high use of ethanol. With a bit more research, the US (and many other countries) could construct conversion plants to convert biomass to ethanol and/or bio diesel, from just about anything with carbon content, not just sugar cane - yard waste, garbage, old tires.... it's amazing the number of places you can find carbon!

Normaly does good at temperatures above 30 deg F. gets much colder it tends to seperate. The ethanol is good for absorbing water from your gas system.
