I would suggest try combing it the way you want it while it is still wet , like when you get out of the shower. That way it will train your hair to stay the way you like it

Use mousse. It's easier and you don't have to worry about it all throughout the day. If you don't want to use any products at all, you need to get out of the shower, towel dry your hair, and let it dry naturally and start to love that look because it's yours. Now to go away from the cheesy moments, you could also use leave in conditioner to tame the hair that doens't seem right. Another thing you could do is keep growing your hair for just a little hile longer and hwne it gets long enough, cut it all off and donate it. That would be so sweet of you to do.

Get some mousse made especially for curly or frizzy hair. This stuff is meant to get the hair under control without weighing it down, or "sculpting" it (as you do with gels). You spray some into your palm (it will be a foam) then work little bits of it through your hair over your whole head. Then scrunch your hair up a bit to bring out a curl (if you have curly hair), or comb it into place (if your hair is straight). It will help the hair behave and not be flyaway, and at the same time will not freeze it into any particular style, so the hair can still behave naturally.
The one I use most often is perfect curls by la coupe. If I'm going to be combing my hair instead of encouraging my curls, I use Fructis Style control frizz milk.

Right after you take a shower, remember to french braid your hair, at least one or two braid. The less the braids, the bigger the curls or waves. Wait for your career or school dismisal, which may be hours later. By the time it's several hours later, your hair will get dry without a towel. That's when you let your hair loose from the ties. And there! That's how you get a tousled look without heat or any pros.

Go to a unisex Hair Salon ask them for a haircut that will look good and just fall into place. Have a woman do it, tell her your tired of all the time in the morning to gel it up. No more gel for you. She will fix you right up! :)

Use mousse, then blow-dry. You can get the same volume and definition you want as gel without your hair being sticky or flat against your head. You wouldn't even have to dry it all the way, so it wouldn't look too styled.

Try blowing it straight back off your forehead. Then just spray it a with hairspray. Not too much hairspray, just enough to hold the shape, but still touchable and still moves like nature intended.

You know Ashton Kutcher? Well you should cut your hair like him. Because you have medium hair like him and his doesn't look like that it takes him along time in the morning to do his hair. Because it's nice, representable, and simple.
