I have a 2 year old German Shepherd mix (and 3 cats). I adopted her when she was 4.5 months from an animal shelter. She was already very big at the time, but she was so adorable that I HAD to adopt her.

All the dogs there were so noisy but she was sitting there and was very calm and she was also pawing already...I love her so much. She is my heart and soul!!!

I named her Babee. People find it funny because she is a very big dog. I believe she is partly a belgian shepherd also...because she is black and her coat is very soft while normally german shepherd have a rougher coat...

People fall in love with her ears, I love her ears...she has an ear that stands up like regular german shepherd, but her other ear is often flapping kind of...and when she runs it looks like a hello.. =D

She is also VERY NOSY...whenever she is nosy, her floppy ear kind of turns toward the sound, its the funniest thing to see

Its just amazing how dogs can love unconditionaly and arent judgemental

8 Months ago I felt the need to have a dog. After going 2 years without one. I knew I wanted a small breed. I went to the animal control with my husband and they had a litter of chihuahua mixes and fell in love with a girl puppy. We went to adopt her and they told us we had to have a letter from our landlord so we didn't get a chance to go back that day. The next day we went back and my girl was gone :-( there was only one puppy left. There was a couple infront of us and we freaked out because we thought surely they were going to want the puppy. Thank God they were there for a cat. So we got the runt of the litter. And that run has become my absolute treasure. He is my baby. I love him so much. He is 8 months old and is just adorable. He looks exactly like a long hair chihuahua you couldn't tell he was a mutt. I feed him Cesar it's the only thing he'll eat...that and Beneful throughout the day. To me he was meant to be with me...because he was the last puppy of that litter and I don't know he's brought so much happiness. Specially with my husband getting deployed right after that. He was my little man at home.
My husband just came back about 2 weeks ago. And on the day after he came back he came accross an abandoned puppy. She was in desperate need of help. She had worms coming out of her butt and fleas could be seen walking all over the poor thing. We have been taking her to the vet and getting her all cleaned up and healthy and she is such a good puppy. She is a pit mix.
Her name is Maggie and his name is Ernie. They are so cute together. I was so scared he wouldn't take her in but he has.
To me, God has really sent us those animals. He has sent them to us when we most needed them.
I am so thankful. We plan on getting a Great Dane...they are amazing and so beautiful. But that's once we have our own house.
Thank you soo much for doing this. It felt good to show how I feel about my dogs with all the negativity around here.
How about you? Won't you share something? :-)

I have a male, 10 year old Border Collie, I have had him since he was 4 months old. His full name is Little Man Dakota, we call him Cody for short. He is rough coated, black and white. He dislikes all other dogs, however, he loves our long haired orange cat (none of our other cats thrill him). Cody eats Wellness Senior Dry Food, twice a day with a 1/3 can of Merricks Grammys Pot Pie on top and he loves treats of all varieties.

Cody is happy doing everything, he loves car rides, just hanging out watching tv, he likes to chase a tennis ball, however, he will not retrieve it (I have to do that-lol), he is particulary not fond of herding sheep either (we have tried several times), which is pretty odd for his breed. He is an extremely faithful, loyal, loveable dog. Everything he does makes me smile and I love him to pieces.

My dog Flop is a shelter rescue too. I had never seen a dog like him - he has a black + white body and a black head with brown eyebrows. I thought he looked like a mutant and fell in love with him right away.
I met some people in the park where we go play in the a.m. who do dog agility. They came up to me and said, "Hey, you've got a great Agility dog there - what are you going to do about that?" I thought that was kinda strange at the time, but I started practicing with them, and now Mr. Floppity competes at Masters' and Elite levels in the Jumpers class in USDAA and NADAC.
Flop has a lot of fun at the trials. I tug with him before we go in the ring to compete, and once the tug toy flipped completely over his face as we were playing. I started laughing and asked him, "Where's the dog?". With a mighty growl, he flipped his head to remove the toy from his face, and kept right on tuggin'! It was very dramatic, and hilarious. I love my little guy. He knows "gimme 5", "where's my foot?" (he smacks my foot with his), "stretch" (he does a long play-bow), "speak", and many other tricks.

He eats Wellness kibble, and his most favorite treats are : plain chicken, salmon jerky, liverwurst, cheese, and anything that the food vendor has at the trials. He doesn't like peanut butter or anything sweet.

I have a three year old female Lab/Wolf Hybrid named Sage. She does NOT get along with other animals, due to her territorial nature. I don't have any other pets. I feed her Kibbles N Bits dry dog food. I love to play fetch with her, and cuddle with her. She sleeps in my bed with me, with her head on the pillow next to mine. She has an attitude problem. She thinks she's the Queen of the house. She has about 25 toys [for real], and she is possesive of all of them. She's the most beautiful animal I've ever seen and she's my best friend. I wouldn't trade her for all the money in the world.

I have a 3 1/2 year old Norwegian Elkhound named Kyrie and a 13 year old Cocker Spaniel named Harley. They are the light of my life and I miss them dearly. Their dad (my ex-husband) got custody in the divorce because we thought it would be better for the dogs to stay in their house with their yard. I was also afraid of how stressful the trip from Alaska to Michigan would be on my babies. Luckily, they are well taken care of and loved very much by their "dad". I still miss them and consider them as my own though. =(

I have a 4 year old female boxer named Niki. She is white with reddish brown markings. She has shadow markings which means (there are shadows around her reddish brown markings).
I've been told this is unusual.
She is a very loving animal and of course lives in the house along with a poddle named Sassy. Sassy was headed to the pound when we took her in for my 87 year old mom as a lap dog.
They are both happy dogs and make our life a little brighter.

I have a shih-tzu/labrador mix named Sampson. He's mostly white with gray markings, and he's very fluffy. His hair hangs down in front of his eyes like that old band, Flock of Seagulls. He's about 9 months old. I also have a kitten named Ishtar; they get along about 90% of the time, although they do like to play-fight a lot. He eats dry puppy food, although I'm bad about giving him people-food. He LOVES peanut butter.

Right now, I'm teaching him tricks. He can sit and lay down on command, stand on his back legs and "dance", and he's just learned how to shake. We're working on "playing dead." My favorite thing about him right now is the fact that he's just learned to hike his leg when he's going potty, and he falls over every once in a while, looking up at me like I did it somehow. I love him!
