I like a guy at work. we work in a large department store he works backstage i work on the shop. I am 24 he is 25.
usually we have the same lunch and breaks and over a few months we have become good mates.
I have a feeling he fancies me. He is not my usual type by far but he is a lovely bloke and makes me feel happy and confident about myself bit like when i was a teenager and had a crush.
I am also friends with 2 other people who work back stage with him. They both say he is unreliable. Like one day last week he phoned in sick when their was a high delivery and the lad left on his own said that he had to call managers to help him. Then I heard he called in sick today. Both say hes a really nice guy just unreliable at work.
I know there is a spark between us and I think it would be nice to take this further however his unreliability at work bugs me. If we were to get together would other staff/managers look at me differently due to their opinions about him or am i being silly?

i was thinking about unreliability in a relationship but he always does a lot for his family and I know they are close.

I have learnt from mistakes and I will take no cr@p when i am with a guy so he would have no chance trying to play me.

Your contract ends in 2 months. What in the blazes are you waiting for? Hurry up and make the sandwich before the bread gets stale.
Seriously, after your contract ends, if you really like him, then ask him out and who cares what "work" thinks?

If he's proving to be unreliable at work, I don't see how he can possibly be reliable in a relationship. My guess is that he would do the same to you. If you really like him and want to give him a chance, then I say who cares what other people think. Go for it. But if it doesn't work out between you two, don't say you wasn't warned because you already knew about his faults in the first place. People at work might judge you for dating him, but again I say if you really like him then ignore them. My guess is that your the type who worries what other people think and if you are, the relationship wouldn't work anyway. So you have alot to think about before making a final decision. Hope this helps.

Do you know whether or not he was really sick? Calling in sick to work doesn't always make you unreliable, if you are truly sick. Maybe you need to hear his side of the story...

Make sure you check your company policies. Some companies don't allow co-workers to date.

All in all, I say give the guy a chance!

no i do not think that the staff should look at you differently if you two started to date. yeah he is unrelaible but since you two are firned why not call him and say that he could get fired or something. maybe he just has more important things in his liferight ow he's worrying about, maybe he is really sick...
or hes just getting sick of the job alltogether.
if you really liek him and everythgin look past that he calls in a few times once in a while "sick" if he is jobless help him find a new one. but dont let him use you and keep giving him money!

just try it out and see. its your decisions and i think you souldnt care what your other co-workers think fo you if you started to date him. you yourself know that you are a good, hard, reliable worker and a nice person. so who cares what others think!

good luck =)

you are being silly!!first of all the guy likes you and don't lose this opportunity!secondly, why should your managers think that you are the same as him? if you are good at your work they will understand! you said that his unreliability bugs you!!that means that maybe you don't really like the guy!! so be careful if you are not sure about your feelings don't go further!! Good Luck!!

I guess it depends on how much your willing to risk for the whole relationship. Do you think that you might be able to have something with him thats worth it? And please who cares what they say, its you who has to live your life not them.
