What is wrong with this relative of mine? When she tells a story, she takes forever to get to the point. She has to be OVERLY detailed, down to the day of when it happened. If she buys a book at the store, it's not just a book about dogs. It's a brown book, 30 pages, about 30 different dog breeds, that must be read to her son atleast a few times..... She over reacts to situations. If you say anything to her about ANYTHING, she will stretch it out and blow it out of proportion when she tells the next relative. If I tell her I went to the store on friday, suddenly, the whole family knows I went to the store on friday.

So this person is overly detailed and over reacts to every scenario and situation and also has a big mouth.... obsessive compulsive maybe?

Hmm... Good question. I don't think she's OCD, because that would mean she would have to be fixated on one thing and act on that obsession (such as worrying that the doors and windows aren't locked, then checking them hundreds of times a day--extreme.)

How old is this relative? Sounds like she might have a form of dementia.

Here's what dementia.com has to say:

What is dementia?

Dementia is a progressive brain dysfunction (in Latin 'dementia' means irrationality), which results in a restriction of daily activities and in most cases leads in the long term to the need for care. Many diseases can result in dementia, the most common one being Alzheimer's disease.

Good luck!
