That's a very thoughtful thing to do! We need more Christians like you in the world.

I'm Atheist, and not so much offended as annoyed by people like that. It's sweet of you to offer an apology, but you can't apologize for a big group of people just because you share their religion. If they personally don't want to apologize, nobody can do it for them.
Plus, I'm pretty sure all Atheists have Christian friends/family members that they love, so we know not all Christians have such harsh views.

Thanks, but you shouldnt have to apologize for the actions of others... I know you Jaime - we've exchanged emails before. And you are just as guilty of this as the others are.... Instead of acting in a way that is not Christ like and then asking for an apology, you could just start living a more Christ like life... We Atheists are not Gods - we cannot forgive your "sins", so apologizing is meaningless when you continually revert back to the same behaviour.
I would also point out that when God and even Jesus taught us to love one another, he was not speaking in the same terms as we now understand it. When God and Jesus said to love your neighbor, he really meant to love your JEWISH Neighbor. Not anyone else. This is the problem with religion - it fosters an in-group mentaility while forstering out-group hate mongering... Times have changed - and so has the meaning of that message.
Abe Lincoln may have freed the slaves, but if you read his speeches, you will see that he still thought of them as inferior to whites... Jesus was similar in this vein.

I agree. I think we should apologize for those not motivated by love. The church as an institution is run by imperfect humans and it hurts almost everyone at some point or another. Yet we all sit back and shake our heads at the church. We don't take responsibility for these actions when we should. And yet we are taught that the church is the people. Well said - I apologize as well.

"...love one another..." means love for fellow Christians (the bretheren), and not the way you use it.
You may feel sorry for the wrong reason.
I do agree that some people do get a bit harsh. But Atheist call the Bible a lie and deny the ressurection of Christ-are you ready to align with that?

Thank you. But I feel you are wrong in labelling the haters as Christians. They are simply fundies who have no understanding of the teachings of the new testament, and only use religion as an excuse for there own intolerance.

thanks on your truthful apology. If I ever indignant you, I say sorry in turn. thanks for taking the first step. you in simple terms gave me a reason to study extra about Islamic practices. p.s. i do not blame you or your faith for the moves of others or their religions. i for my section agree that if any of the massive 3 religions is nice, it must be Islam, by way of very incontrovertible fact that there are extra of them contained in the Holy Land than something else. Who ought to comprehend extra powerful than the people who stay there and characteristic each and every of the historic past at their fingertips?

I've felt that way for years! God wants us all to follow Him, but He wants us to do it of our own free will. It does no good if we try to drag people, kicking and screaming to the altar for baptism. We are suppose to share our faith with others. If they choose not to accept that, we are only suppose to love them, and tolerate their differences.
