The bible tells the truth.

Regarding acts of homosexuality, God’s Word pointedly says: “This is a hateful thing.” (Leviticus 18:22, The New Jerusalem Bible) God’s Law to Israel stipulated: “When a man lies down with a male the same as one lies down with a woman, both of them have done a detestable thing. They should be put to death without fail.” (Leviticus 20:13) The same punishment was prescribed for those committing bestiality, incest, and adultery.—Leviticus 20:10-12, 14-17.

The apostle Paul was inspired to describe homosexual acts as expressions of “disgraceful sexual appetites” and as “contrary to nature.” He writes: “That is why God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites, for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene and receiving in themselves the full recompense, which was due for their error. And just as they did not approve of holding God in accurate knowledge, God gave them up to a disapproved mental state, to do the things not fitting.”—Romans 1:26-28.

As the saying goes, "there are two sides to every story, and then there is the truth. Some Christens prefer to say YES, some NO, but in reality, both groups are RIGHT.

Homosexuality has two forms, 1) inherited (e.g. dad was a homosexual, 2) aquired (e.g. having been raped or molested as a child). This is different than having A sinful nature, when you know something is wrong to do, but you do it anyway.

Some may think homosexuality is a sin, just as they think eating pork is a sin. However, it may be the having sex outside of marriage that is a sin and not the sexual preferrence, itself.

Hope this answers you question!

It's about the same as when one Church says the Church down the street is run by Satan and if you leave their Church you will burn for all eternity,.. because of all the people and places on Earth that specific building was chosen by God himself.

Now these days some parts are getting smarter (even though humans as a whole seem to be getting dumber). Some have realized it is a Disease or a Cry for Help,.. some thing the person was born with or some way to get attention. So they score more points with Jesus and God and Peter,.. by recruiting Homosexuals under their House of God and going " They can't help it,.. but maybe we can help them, y'all"

Jesus has nothing to do with this,.. except Churches like to use his name to manipulate XD

The Bible & just about every other book (Jewish & Muslim included) says that it is a sin. When you get those that say it is not, they are just interpreting what they want in order to not be guilty. Its a justifying that is being done. When some say that it is not in the Bible, or that it is there but doesnt apply, they are just wanting to make themselves feel better because they participate in the action.

There is no denying that it is written in the Bible. But those who chose to live alternatively to what is said, want to justify it by putting up arguments that sound nice & politicaly correct & dont want to hurt feelings. But in religion, and that goes for all religion not just Christians, you must foresake what you WANT it to say for what it DOES say. It is about controling yourself & allowing God to help you control. If someone is caught stealing, they justify it by saying they were poor or hungry, so they had no choice. Not to say that I would not do the same if put in a desprite position, but it still is stealing.

Nowadays you can blame anything on anyone else & never accept responsibility for your actions. "its not his fault he is a thief & drug user, his father was one", "road rage made him do it". There is so much disregard for the law (Gods & mans) today because everyone has a story on why they did it. They shoot up a school because they didnt have a good home life. It gets to the point that even some of the weakest reasons get by for an excuse.

So its not differing view points, its different desires that one may want to exploit or explore & they turn it around & justify it to suit them. Look how all the major religions frown on pre-marital sex, but most people from all of the religions still do it because of, you name it!:
want to try each other out
it only says dont commit adultery, so fornication is ok (it does also address fornication)
everyone else is doing it
I should be able to choose for myself
blah, blah, blah, etc.... the list goes on.

Cut & Paste theology + listening to the agendas of the culture. The Bible is very clear about this issue. Homosexuality is a perversion of what God intended for us.

That said, the application of this also differs in people who call themselves Christians. Some go to an extreme and decide to hate these people and make them the most evil sinners on the planet. These people seem to have only read those particular verses in the Bible and missed all the millions of other ones about love, grace, and mercy.

My view, because I once was one of the gay people, is that Christians need to just love people. Sin is sin. None is any worse than another. Those who throw stones at gays, have they ever told a lie?? Most likely. Jesus said "He who is without sin throw the first stone." No one can claim that. We need to love. IMO, love means calling sin sin, but not beating someone up for it. It means that if a person is willing to seek freedom , we can walk along side them and provide support. Love.

1 Corinthians 6:9
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders
Romans 1:27
In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

The reason followers of any religion have different views on any issue. In any religion, you'd be hard pressed to find any two followers who agree on every aspect of that religion. Strange, considering that most of them believe in an all-powerful, all-knowing deity, who probably should have done a much better job spelling it all out. It's all pretty sketchy, and the specifics have been left open to interpretation. Anyone. ANYone...who follows a religion, and feels that they know, absolutely, for certain, that what they believe is the truth, is no stranger to selective interpretation, and presumption. I'm not saying that any given religion cannot be the truth. I don't have enough information at my disposal to make a claim like that. But much of the time, it does seem to me, that people spend more time shaping their observations and interpretations around their existing opinions and bias, rather than allowing unbiased observation to determine their opinions.

The result? Whatever one's stance, one will be able to create an excuse for it, that fits in with one's religion of choice.

I don't know where the "others" get their basis that homosexual behavior is acceptable as a different "life style". For me, a Christian who reads my Bible as the infallible Word of God, I read plainly that homosexual activity is an abomination to God. Whe God uses that word abomination to describe something, it is a way of highlighting a sin. Can people live a homosexual "life style"? Yes they can, but they will reap the results of being an abomination to God, and in the day of judgment, they will be cast into Hell along with the other unbelievers. In short, a Christian (if he is a true Christian) cannot live a homosexual existence. I know one person (previously homosexual), who asked God's forgiveness and is now a Christian living what we consider a normal life (wife and a child on the way). God convicted him of his sin and he repented and was born again in spirit. Knowing what he knows now, he has turned from his sinful ways, asking forgiveness daily for his sins and leaving behind the "life style" that he knows dishonors God.

Some Christians actually follow what the Bible says and some choose to twist the scriptures according to there own desires. There is a big difference between TRUE and FALSE Christians. As the Bible says the False ones will pick and choose scriptures and twist them.
The Bible clearly states in both 'new' and 'old' testament that any sex outside a marriage of a man and woman is against God's laws.

Unfortunately Christians rarely agree on anything. If you are in honest search of truth maybe you could start with these, Exodus 20 and then John 3:16. I like to use BibleGateway.com several different translations are available from this site.

Peace :)

Because they're not doing so well on the keeping up with the weekly bullsh!t and, therefore, are having trouble supporting the lies they're fed.

This is my opinion and I am entitled to it, but I will still apologize for the callous and acedic tone as it is not like me to be like this, but sometimes one just needs to vent and at least I vent this way instead of other, more violent ways. Again, sorry for the, tone, I'm just as confounded and frusterated as everyone else that has any theological interest. I'm human, therefore not perfect and as prone to outbursts of ARGH! as the next person.

Honestly, I believe in GOD. I believe that GOD should judge not man. This is one of the reason that I've stopped going to church. They are very judgmental and choose who can attend church and who can't.
They gossip whether you pay tithes and stuff how you dress etc. I'm tired of it. Even though I'm baptized I hope that God knows my true heart and i can't understand why i can't bring a friend with me to church if they are gay etc.
Why do they judge when they say don't judge god is the only judge. Isn't that being a hypocrite?
