Whatever you do, do NOT remove your jewelry without consulting your piercer (well, if he/she is a true professional) or seeing a doctor. By removing the jewelry you would run the risk of trappin gthe infection. This is one of the most difficult piercings to heal, believe it or not, so if you're determined to keep it you really need to talk to somebody. For at home, in the mean time, take vitamin C and zinc, which aids the healing process. Don't play with your jewelry and continue to wash it, I recommend using Provon or Silk medical soap...it's affordable and used by surgeons for pre-op scrubbing. Flip a cup of WARM sea-salt water (1/4 tsp to 8oz) over onto your navel to soak the wound for 10-15 minutes twice a day...do not over soak because this can cause more harm then good! If you don't want to sit with a cup over you belly then you can soak cotton balls in the sea salt solution and stick them on your belly. Avoid peroxide at all costs! Make sure you clean it out well after showering, too. Carefully move the jewelry through the hole to losen up the crusties that form! Good luck healing your piercing and just remember to take it slow. Piercings take time, which a lot of people odn't realize before they go and get one.

The obvious answer is yes, it's infected. I'm guessing you don't want to take it out and start over, so try using a q-tip to put alcohol or hydrgen peroxide on the wound, the put some anti-bacterial cream on the pad of a bandaid then cover the wound with that. This may help, but if it doesn't get better pretty quick you need to have it looked at by a doctor - these infections can be nasty if you don't take care of them.

You need to wait until it is no longer red or sore at all if u knock it and it still hurts then its not ready to be changed. The longer you leave it as it is the less likely it is to get infected (i no its a pain cause u wanna change it to something different leaving it saves a lot of pain). Also when you do change it for the first time you need to make sure the bar is surgical steal as that will also lower your chances of infection.

Wash it with a saltwater solution probably 3-4 times a day.
Once a piercing is infected it's really hard to get it clean again.
I would say take it out. I've had my ears done and they got infected, i took them out. My tongue is done now and it's been fine for 3 years. The mouth pretty much keeps itself clean....skin dosen't.

Is it painful and/or warm to the touch? Then yes.
Even if it isn't a full blow infection, you should remove the stud, and thouroughly wash the area, keeping it clean until it heals completely.

yes. Mine took about 6 months to heal and kept getting infected too. I washed mine with antibacterial soap twice a day and it seemed to help.

I had the same problem and used that bacitracin spray. Worked wonders. Do not remove the ring. Will cause inner infection.

Most likely yes! My sisters was the same way, she had to remove hers. If I were you i would remove the piercing or have it checked out by a doctor ASAP.
