We have 5 cats, 3 females, 2 males. Newest male is 7 months old, got him in June for our other male who was hated by the girls, needed a buddy and to get him to leave our one shy girl alone. Now the older male romps with the kitten, but the kitten stalks and chases the shy girl who has lost the little backbone she had. She came off the streets six years ago, must have been abused, and has only had love since then. She’s become a recluse and has lost some weight, vet says she’s healthy. The kitten is still in his ADHD stage, we intervene between he and the shy girl but he is undeterred and comes right back. Plastic bag noise only scares the shy girl, and squirting him only works for as long as it takes him to bound away and turn around to come charging back. Any suggestions?

He's a kitten. He is doing what kittens do. I would try to set up a place where the shy girl can go and have some peace. A cat bed in a spare bedroom, a spot in a closet? Somewhere she can hide and get some peace and quiet.

You just have to leave them be, they will get used to each other! Soon enough they will be laying together, playing together and everything.
