The best way to store root veg (potatoes, carrots, parsnips, swede etc is in newspaper and in a dark place) Keeping them in the plastic bags makes em sweat and being in a dark place simulates their natural under soil environment. All other veg should be kept in the fridge covered but again, out of the plastic bags.

depends on the veggie. i clean and separate the lettuce, put it in a zip lock bag, and store in crisper. during the cooler months i keep potatoes and onions in a basket out of the fridge. carrots and celery need to be in fridge crisper in zip lock baggies, along with broccoli , squash and cauliflower if your going to use tomatoes right away they taste better room temp. if not they can stay in crisper without a bag..
