As far as I know it's not possible to disconnect the immobiliser. The immobiliser and alarm are de activated when you unlock the car with the 'plip' button on the key. If the electronic bit of the key goes wrong you cannot start the car. If the 'plip' receiver or ecu develop a fault you cannot start the car. The immobiliser system seems to be built into the electronics of the car. The key has to be programmed to the car in order to work and Renault charge a fortune for this (approx £140 to supply and program new key) I would recommend looking for an independent 'key programming' specialist who could help. I would ignore all the people on the net who claim it is possible to program a used key yourself - I have been down that road with my own 96 Megane coupe - I have spent hours and tried a total of four different keys (all infra red keys same as original) to no avail. Renault can provide you with a four digit code which you can put in to disarm the alarm/immobiliser as a temporary measure but this only works for a limited time according to Renault (they can't tell me how long though) and is a pain to put the code in every time you start up. As far as I can see there is no easy way out.

I come across this problem most days at our dealership and I would be interested in kits for bypassing the immobilisers on these Renaults.
Hope you can find out and pass on info, please.
Cheers

Find a breaker with a similar model. remove the IR receiver with matching key, its just plug & play stuff and a damn sight cheaper!

in concept you may have the skill to pass it by making use of having access to the coded solenoid valve on the back of the injection pump. there's a steel cover over the solenoid valve and the canopy is hung on with tamper info bolts (shear bolts) which will would desire to be drilled out. as quickly as the canopy is got rid of you would be able to desire to discover the cord that it stay whilst the ignition is switched on and connect it to the solenoid valve. (the solenoid valve is in fact a gas cut back off valve). regardless of the reality which you ought to connect your own ignition fed cord to the solenoid, yet for defense you're able to try this by making use of a relay with fused stay feeds going to it.
