You can freeze cheese cake, but you should not freeze regular cheese, or for that matter, fancy cheese. Don't you hate it when you make stuff and then the party is cancelled, moved, etc? I guess it would be ok to freeze it, but what about the part you ate? Isn't that going to look bad when you bring in the "dip" with a big hole in the corner? What's cincinnati style chili, is my question. I did not know Cincinnati was known for their chili. My advice is to throw it out so you don't eat all that party food and get sick or fat, and then make it fresh when the party is really going to happen. Sometimes you just have to suck it up, and throw food out.

It can be frozen, but the texture won't be the same when it's thawed. It will be "spongy," for lack of a better term. You can use it in recipes that don't rely on the cream cheese for a velvety smooth texture.

I've stored cream cheese in the freezer for as long as three months. But again, it won't be suitable for recipes that require a good texture when it's thawed.

Darn right it can be frozen.. I have frozen some for over a year...

The consistency was no longer smooth but I ran it through the food processor and it made cheesecake like it was fresh !!

Keep in mind that some things work for some simply because they want it to work bad enough.

Freezing will change the consistency, unfortunately,I've never frozen it successfully...I can't tell you what's wrong when it comes out, but it's just...odd. Stored properly it does keep for quite a while.I had a package that had been in my fridge for almost a year. Took it out at Christmas to see if it was OK. It looked fine so I softened it and whipped it with my portable mixer, tasted it -the taste and texture was fine so I went ahead and added my other ingredients to make a clam dip. Turned out just fine!

Yes it can.

The freezerlife will depend on how you pack it. vacuum-sealed, and kept below 0, it will have a freezer life measured in years.

If you're just tossing a brick of Philly into the chiller, I'd say use it within 90 days to avoid frost damage and funky freezer flavors.

Cream cheese has a long shelf life. If it is unopened look for the expiration date. If it has been opened give it about a month before it grows mold. I wouldn't freeze it unless you've made a cheesecake.

Freezing cream cheese is not recommended. It makes it grainy when thawed. Philadelphia Cream Cheese says not to freeze it at all.
