The best way I have found to stop my wife Gloria from farting failed. I tried beano. I tried cutting out all fart-producing food such as beans, margerine, milk and roasted potatoes, but she kept on farting. Finally, i got mad and stuffed a cork up her fart-hole. This worked for about thirty minutes untill the gas built up. I heard this incredible thunder followed by a popping sound and then I woke up naked half-way down the steps on the porch.
I've tried getting the council round to stop her and have reported her many times to the minister for the environment, but nothing seems capable of stopping her. And so, with much regret, i have decided to lock her in the basement. She's been there for three months so far and I can report an increase in my quality of life.
Stop press .. The surveyor came round this morning and he tells me that Glorias wind could build up in the basement over time. Then it would only take a small spark to ignite the fumes which could easily destroy my house and possibly the neighbors too.
He recommends i jettison her into space and hope that her farts can help to replace some of the ozone layer. And so you see? Every cloud has a silver lining.

I swear by phazyme and Beano. They are OTC medications that help prevent gas build up. Also, they have a yogurt made by dannon called activia that has live acidophulis (sp?) bacteria which aids in digestion-->decreased foofing. I believe that gas is caused as a byproduct of digestion. Some foods release more gas. You should take note of the foods that make you more gasy. If you notice that you have a lot of gas when you eat dairy products you might be lactose intolerant, in which case you can purchase lactose free dairy products. One other idea, chewing gum can lead to gas because of the chewing motion you are letting in excess air.

Get some Beano and there will be no gas. Fiber is good for you. Soak beans overnight to take out the gas. You need fiber in your diet.

There is a product out in drugstores called Beano that you take whenever you expect gas from the food you are eating or going to eat. Never tried it myself yet though.

Not only the foods and pill mentioned above, but slow down when you eat. Wolfing down your food allows you to ingest air, and if it isn't released by burping, then it will come out the other way.

I don't think you want to totally prevent it. It is part of the body's natural flow of order. And some of the best foods you can eat for your body cause it nauturally; like broccoli and beans for example. A lot of vegetables cause it, but please don't eliminate those from your diet. They are important in keeping healthy!!
