In a nutshell (because you could get into quantum physics in this answer if you wanted to); grass is green because the chlorophyll pigment in it absorbs all light except green, which it reflects, making you're eyes perceive it as green. The sky is blue for a similar reason. Light passing through it is reflected in the blue spectrum of visible light. (theres no pigment involved in the sky color though)

Because chlorophyll in the grass absorbs all other colors of light.

The sky is blue because the blue light is reflected off of the clouds.

Both of those questions were on the MCAT.

If the sky was green, we wouldn't know where to stop mowing.
