They were a good binding at one time. I use Salomon 957 racing bindings myself. I know mine are more than 10 years old, and I'm pretty sure the 700s are much more than that.

However, I would suggest DON'T BUY THEM. The reason is, that unless they match the existing drilled holes in your ski, you won't be able to put them on yourself (unless you want to redrill your ski, which I don't recommend).

Why not take them to a ski shop? Because I've found that most ski shops now are refusing to mount bindings that are more than 5 or 6 years old, certainly not anything 10 years or older. This is for insurance liability reasons. As such, you might end up with a pair of bindings that no one will mount for you.

I had the 900's about 8 years ago. Unless they came out with the 700's again, they are about 10 years old. I LOVED the 900's. In general Salomon's are very mechanical and stiff. They are best when used with matched skis, and are great if you like skiing fast on well-groomed mountains.

Take them to a shop and get it done the right way. You: A) Lack the skills to correctly mount the bindings. B) Lack the knowledge to correctly mount the bindings. C) Lack the proper tools and equipment to correctly mount the bindings. Mismounting the bindings can result in the following: A) Improper alignment of the binding on the ski, thus making you off balance and having to keep your foot at an off angle. (Been There, Done That.) B) Binding may come off. C) Binding may be too forward or too back, thus causing the ski to not perform at its optimum level and/or causing excessive chatter and instability at higher speeds. (Been There, Done That Too.) D) Improper placement of binding causing you to have to re-drill and re-mount again to fit the boot size. All of which can result in injury and/or poor performance. Get this done by someone who knows what they are doing.
