My children father and I are very close even though we are no longer in a relationship together. We sit and talk on the phone, we take the children out on family outings and we even still help each other with money issues. But for some strange reason people tend to see that as still being in a loving relationship and that is not the case. They also want to say that I had to have lost custody of my children because I choose to let them live with their father. What is the deal with people not being mature enough to understand some people can get along as friends after having a love relationship.

I say you have a GREAT relationship!! How wonderful that you & your ex can talk on the phone, can talk about the children, be friendly with one another ... your kids will be the ones to benefit from this the most!!
Society has dictated that divorce means be hateful to one another ... you two realized you couldn't live as husband and wife but you work well as friends ...
It's not anyones business why you don't have custody of your children, you made a hard / mature decision that in your heart you know was right ... who cares what others think!!
If more people acted as you and you ex ... we'd have a lot more well adjusted kids and people would be mature ... society isn't ready to grow up!!
Again kudos!!! Thank you for setting a great example!!

they don't know your life story the reason you let your kids live with there father was your choice don't mean you lost custody of them you have your reasons for letting them stay with the father, at least you both love them and are both in there lives that's all that matters not what other people think.

More people need to be mature enuf to have the friendship that you two have. More folks need to think of what is best for their children, more than their own hurt feeling that their relationship did not work. you are both wonderful parents.

Basically they have nothing better to do, and because they need something new to gossip about.
Hey you do your thing and leave the phonies alone.
Your doing fine.
I bet you a lot of them should be cleaning out their own back porches before they ever came over and judged yours.

Probly cuz their just idiots, and thats how most of the relations end. But thats still very stupid of them to be that way. I think its great that you two are still friends, i wish it would happen more often.
