according to my height and weight i am overweight but i really dont feel like i am....i feel fit and heathly as well and im doing my duke of edinburgh gold this year so i no im fit because of this...so why when i put down the figures on paper do i come out as overweight?

I completely agree. Muscle weighs more than fat. If you are very muscular, your BMI can be deceiving. However, you likely take up less space because the muscle is lean tissue. I wouldn't worry about numbers, as long as I knew I was fit.

Some people's bodies just do not fit the limited norm that is used to calculate the height and weight relationship. But also, you may have extra body fat hidden in your body. There are tests for % of body fat. There is a scale that is sold through Jenny Craig's, weight lose program, for about 85 bucks that also figures body fat and displays it. It is a great scale and I recommend it.

I'm assuming you're talking about BMI. BMI doesn't take account of muscle mass. If you are fairly muscular, you will weigh more; therefore, making you appear fat on the BMI scale.
