it makes me mad that some people who do hate pit bulls. most of the people who have seen a pit bull fight or met a mean pit bull or just seen a pit bull go after someone hasnt seen how most pit bulls live there lives. they are very loving dogs. fun. friendly. i own one and he LOVES EVERYBODY AND EVERYTHING. i mean it. he really loves dogs. he loves babys too. he lets my baby sister who is 1 1/2 yrs old sit on him, hit him, and pull his ears. i think that people who hat epit bull need to spenda day with them or somthing. there are alot of other dogs who are meaner than pit bulls. check out the web sites below

It is upsetting, but as a pit bull owner I am learning that people will think what they want. They are judge mental b/c of all the bad hype. Many dogs bite but when a pit bull bites it is in the news. People just have to get to know the breed. My dog is very loving and playful. He has been socialized since they day we got him. Immediately introduced to children and went through puppy classes and takes frequent trips to petsmart just to get him used to being around people and animals. And every trip we make I get stopped and oh, he's so cute, does he bite. He's wagging his tail with his tongue hanging out begging for attention, does he look like his gonna bite! Would I bring him out around people if he was a biter?? People anger me!!! Pit bull owners do have to be responsible and not become aggressive with stupid people that don't understand. My mom used to be sucked in by the bad hype and one day as my dog was racing around her living room I said did you ever think you'd have a pit bull in your living room. And she replied I never thought I'd have one in my lap b/c that's where he always ends up is in her lap giving pit bull kisses!!! It simply took her getting to know the breed and she fell in love!!!! Those people are just missing out on what wonderful dog pits are!!! We'll just consider ourselves lucky to be loved by a pit!!!
Merry Pit-mas!!!!!!

Many people judge the breed, by a few dogs. They do not take the time to actually meet a Pit Bull, that is a pet. I've encountered Pit Bulls that were confiscated from fighting rings, and they were aggressive, yes. But not because they were ''blood hungry'', but rather because they were injured, and scared.
When treated right, Pit Bulls have so much love to give.

Pit bulls are concidered vicious animals .People are afraid of what they dont know,so unless they have been exposed to a pit, they only have the bad media publicity to go on.I too have a pit. He is almost a year old and his name is Brutus.I must say he is the hyperist dog I've ever owned ,but far from vicious,I believe alot of the meanness in pits comes from how they are bred and raised.I also have a Rott,a shepard,a beagle, and a chichuawa.Talk about a house full.I dont own a vicious animal,Well maybe the chichuawa!!!!!!!!!!!!She thinks shes bad!!

The general publics view of Pits is almost completely caused by the media. I have had Pits for over 25 years. I've kept track of pups and litter mates and never heard of any problems. My dogs have all been smart, friendly and well socialized. *** There was a period of time when the news was going crazy with "Bad Pitbull" stories. Whenever one of these would run, I would call the station to ask"Would they like to run a Good Pitbull story?" The answer was always..NO!..The media only wants to portray them as bad, what we can do as Pit owners/lovers is to take every opportunity to show people that Pits are just dogs like any other(Just cooler).

Pit bulls have a bad rep for fighting but that has nothing to do with the breed but rather the fact that it's the number one dog used in dog fights by animal cruelty jerks! Pits are very strong dogs who have locking jaws which is why they were used for dog fights. But they can be such big babies and so gentle that I hate that people assume the breed is bad. It's not a bad breed but rather bad owners that make them that way!

Pit bulls are not the first dog of choice that come to mind when you say the word dog! Most usually think fluffy and cuddly. Most Pitt Bulls are not that way. I guess all dogs personality's are different just like all humans are. And on that note everyone is in-tilted to liking their own type of dog. I want a husky!

I used to really hate them until my neighbour got one and he is such a friendly dog. He's such a big baby. However, he's still a pittbull and when another pitbull comes around, there is this pack mentality and then he becomes a totally different dog. So, for that reason, even though I love that dog, I would never own a pit bull or allow a pit bull to be around children. One pittbull is fine, two is unpredictable.

Personally I'm tenative about Pit Bulls. They have gotten a rep as being mean, vicious killers. I've met several pits that have been angels. However the news only shows the mean ones. since they were bred to protect and eventually for dog fights they've gotten a bad rep. I'm also tenative about rots, doby's, and dalmations. that's just me though.

Pitbull have a bad reputation...but the truth is that every dog can be agressive depending on how he is brought up. Even a labrador which has a very good reputation, is brought up with violence then he will become agressive...if a pitbull is brought up with affection and you don't train him for fighting he could be a lovely dog. In general though pitbulls have a small brain for the proportion of their body...people say that they are dogs that where created in labs..so that is one of the reasons that they may become so agressive...i'm not sure if it is real though

They are a large and very strong breed, and some irresponsible people encourage aggression in them. This bad hype OBVIOUSLY doesn't apply to all pits, but it's hard to counter such a flood of bad press.
I have to tell you, I was bitten by one who was feeling very defensive and territorial. It was just a nip, on the back of my calf, but the bruise lasted a month. The owners were very sorry, and arranged for some behavioral training. I am not afraid of them as a breed, but I am afraid of what one in a similar situation might do to me! Thus, I tend to keep my distance from them.
My fear is conditional. Too many people allow it to become generalized.
