I am a parent that doesn't freak when my kids get bad grades, if I know they have done their best. Now, if one grade has been an "A" the whole time and then there is a "D" or "F" then I do take notice. I don't take it as being a failure but as a warning flag that we need to do better. I definitely care about the grades they make in school whether it is an A or a F.

those human beings have faith that there are extra significant issues than grades in existence, and having sturdy grades doesnt recommend you're sensible, in my view i in no way did any homework in extreme college and that i replaced into very extra often than not inebriated or extreme, yet i try nicely and that i learn issues as a results of using being there, so i graduated with a three.7 gpa. one in all my terrific acquaintances, smartest woman i've got ever met, reads continuously, can circulate on and on and ooonn approximately background or technology or something, in no way did any homework ever, and additionally examined nicely, because of the fact she frequently knew all the stuff previously she ever took the class, yet she could take a seat in college and doodle, because of the fact artwork is her pastime. and he or she has a 2.5 gpa.... yet, she would be able to make $500 from one portray. i heavily doubt her grades would have numerous an result on her destiny success, and he or she's happier for no longer stressing approximately college.

Well, they are right to be concerned or upset when your grades are bad, but they should also tell you, in some way, that they are proud when your grades are good.
Some people have this crazy idea that kids will become "conceited" or compliments will "go to their head". It is not true! Everyone needs to know when they are doing a good job!

Parents should practice immediate feedbacks with their children, whether it's negative or positive. Positive reinforcements are good for a child and helps to develop more self confidence. This is an area all of us can do more with everyone around us... It allows us to express our appreciation of their good act/behavior or grades in this case.

It's sad that you don't feel like your parents are giving you your congrats for your good grades.

Maybe you should talk to them about it. Tell them you don't feel like they are being supportive.

My parents used to give us $10 for every A we got. We didn't get anything for Bs. And we had to pay them for Cs and Ds. We didn't even discuss Fs. It worked out really well. I was extra motivated to do well because I could get as much as $70 at the end of every semester. Propose that idea to them, and see what they think.

Good luck to you, and I, for one as a college instructor, hope you get more good grades!
