Haven't any idea of how far that is but will tell you that my long distance relationship works very well. My fiance and I live 2.5 hours from one and other and are marrying next May 20. We see each other each and every weekend and talk on the phone nightly. Trust, confidence and loyalty are more important in these relationships I believe but if you have these as well as open and honest communication there is no reason why it cannot work out.

If by dating, you mean seeing each other on the weekends, and possibly during the week, it should be fine. But if you mean talking on the phone for months and spending 1-2 days every 6-8 weeks together, no.

Well, if you are talking about LONG-TERM relationships, yes. Many of them do work out specifically because there is no END.
If, instead, you are talking about LONG-DISTANCE relationships, then no. A relationship needs to eventually get to the point where it is a short-distance relationship, an intimate one, to work. There are a number of long-distance relationships that have worked out by turning into short-distance ones. Yet, as cruel as it might sound, there is no long-distance relationship that remained long-distance that ever worked out from the point of view of romance and intimacy.

It takes a lot of maturity and trust. And I am not talking about the other person. YOU have be mature and trust yourself when you are in a long distance relationship. There also needs to be discuss about future plans. If the both of you do not have any plans on moving then I think you are both wasting your time.

Ive been in a long relationship, its working just fine.
After re reading this, I think you may have meant LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIPS.. and NO, I dont think they work. I think its too hard to wonder what the other person is doing, and work through each of our own personal insecurities.

Sorry to say. Everything is coming to an end... sometimes new life is better than monotonous relations of indifferent people. Hugs.
