it gets in my face and is constantly headbutts me. I thought at first it just wants attention & to be petted. but he does it way to much. what is with all the headbutting? and how can I stop it. last time I was drinking coffee when he head butted me and it spilled all over.

That is so sweet! Your kitty loves you! He is marking you with the scent glands around his head so any other kitties know you're "taken". It really is a sign of affection. Try distracting him with a treat or some catnip if it becomes too much! At least he isn't waving his butt in your face like mine do!

It's cos he likes you, and it's a way for him to tell other cats that you're "his" human. =)

The easiest way to stop him from doing it while you're drinking coffee or eating is by putting him down on the floor again every time he tries to get up into your lap. I don't consider it a very good idea to have cats in your lap while eating anyway ^^; Not only because they might think that it's okay to nab some of your food, but also because you can accidentally spill hot things onto them.

He's really just being happy and affectionate and telling you how much he likes you. You don't want to punish him for this behavior, because that will tell him it is wrong to like you. Be sure he is getting enough attention and affection, and when he does it at the wrong time, just put him down off the table or whatever so he can't reach your coffee cup. Good Luck!!

my cat not only headbutts me but he'll jump on the couch sit beside me and stares and if i don't acknowledge him he'll reach out and grab my arm or hand if he can reach it and pull it to him for me to pet him ive never had a cat be so demanding for attention and another weird thing he does is he sleeps on his back and he watches south park when i turn it on and he hears the intro he runs to the coffee table and sits and stares at the tv on commercials he jumps on my lap for some attention and when it comes back on he goes right back to the coffee table for the show after it goes off he goes to his bed and flips over and goes right back to sleep kinda weird i think but cute

This is a cat's sign of deep affection. Even big cats are known for this. He's telling you that he's proud to be your buddy!

He's just showing you that he loves you. It is a sign of affection. Cats have scent glands on various parts of their body and the head is one of them. He is making sure that you have his scent on you. My cats also do this to the other cats and the dogs.

He's just being affectionate. The act of rubbing, is to mark you with his scent. Be flattered!

Some cats are insatiable for affection. Enjoy it!
