I am 14 and work for two days a week, fri. and sat. for about 4 hrs. each. I have decided to move to my dad's house and i live with my mom right now. It's going to be a pretty rough weekend and i was thinking about asking my boss (who is very good friends with my dad) if i could have the weekend off because of me moving over and stuff. Is this a good reason? or should i not miss work?

Moving is a legitimate reason to take a day off.

Yes, moving is a legitimate reason to take time off. However - what kind of advance notice does your job require (a day, a week, etc). Being that you are young and only work 4 hours can't you work and move? Just a thought. Maybe you could ask you boss if you could work in the morning and that way you would have the afternoon to move. I would think the responsible thing to do would be to work, and move after work. The choice is yours and I pray that you make the responsible choice.

Good luck and God Bless

it's a good reason but don't ask because he's friends with your dad, just say that you need to move this weekend and maybe ask if you can switch hours with someone

I think it is within reason to ask but you should abide by his answer without complaint if he says no or only on sat or something and if he says yes express some gratitude.

Sounds like a good reason to me. He should be understanding as long as you give him plenty of time to fill your hours while you are gone.
