I'm 24 and fell in love with a woman of 35, however she didn't return it cos she was in love with a guy of 42. Now she's got me wishing that I was 42 to show her I am more mature!

Only kids and teenagers wish they were older. Once you pass 25......you're cool w/ the age your at.

When I was a kid always wanted to be older and would lie to bartenders and gals about my age. Now that I am a lot older do not want to be any other age then what I am at present. Sad that you fell for a woman that did not return this affection. However, that is the way life is you will break hearts throughout it and have yours broken too. Be grateful of where you are and soon enough you'll be the age you desire, and by then it will probably happen to quickly. Move on with your life as there are lots of women your age that are out there looking for you at this very moment.

Wait until you are 35, or 42 - then you'll be wishing you were younger!
Time waits for no man, as they say, and before you know it you are not young any more. Enjoy your youth while you still have it. As for this woman, forget her. She didn't return your love because she didn't return it, not because of your age or maturity. Love doesn't work like that. Move on.

When I was 25 I dated a 39 year old guy. I think I was his "trophy chick". It made him feel young to be with such a younger person. It all fell apart when I asked him if he ever though about marriage again. I would say be happy to be the age you are and enjoy your youth. I am 38 now and I feel 28. I would never wish to be older. Older doesn't mean wiser either because my step boys Mom is as dumb as mud. She is in love with buying things and she can't pay the rent. She is far from mature.
I say forget her and try to find someone closer to your age. If you don't both love each other equal...it just won't work.

I know what you mean. I am 18 and liked a 26 year old once and I could never go out with him to any 21 and older clubs or bars or anything and that always got me because I would feel so childish. But hey, you know what, we were born the time we were born for a reason. Those people weren't meant for us. And when we find the ones that were, age will be nothing. Best of luck :-)

No way.... i won't want to be older. If you are 42 now, I bet you will still act like you're 24. Maturity comes with time. Find someone else who will appreciate you for who you are, now that's maturity.

When I was younger I'd wish I were older but I don't now. I'm a couple years younger than you are. Can't you find some other way to show her that you are mature?

when your 42 your going to be wishing you were 24 again so dont trip. most older woman dont like younger guys because they are too immature, and dont seem like they would want to commit.
