My boyfriend will be turning 19 in January and yes I have already started planning his special day! My only question is .. is it a good idea to invite some of his close friends (maybe 3 or 4) to a nice sit sown dinner with us or should it just be the two of us?

Inviting Friends is always a good idea. You can spend time alone with him after they leave

I feel that he will appreciate the gesture that you are working on. What my advise would be is have the formal dinner with friends but then plan an activity for just the two of you afterwords. He is going to really enjoy your effort in bring the people who matter most to him together but he will also want to spend time with you. Have dinner, but make it an early affair so that you can have time alone together too.

Well, I would have to say that it all depends on the type of person he is. Is he an intimate person, who would enjoy a "private dinner" or is he someone who needs alot of people around him?? I would probally, depending on his personality, plan two "parties" one his friends, can come to and one for just to two of you.. This way he'll know that you care enough to include his friends/family, but you also realize the importance of "us time"...

And no, i dont think it's too early to plan either... Good Luck,

Hi! It's important to answer to yourself what you want. Both may be good . First a merry dinner with friends , if they don't irritate you. LOL. Then you may finish it staying alone and enjoy a quiet romantic evening. It depends on your wish and relations and friends, Have a nice time! Irene

Invite his friends over for a while, then after they leave, spend some alone time with him, you know catch a movie there at home or something.

You know what type off people these "friends" are so just imagine the schenario of being at the restaurant with them and your bf. How would they act? Try to think of it as realisticly as possible and if you aren't pleased with what will come of it, you know it's a bad idea.

I think it is a good idea and after the little dinner you should give him dessert. Just you and him sit down.

If you want it to be special.. just make it for the two of you... Otherwise his friends will most likely just not knowingly 'push' you out of the conversation.... Do whatever you think is best!
