It's probably one of the more safer bases around Baghdad.Mortars aren't common, and bases services are excellent. You can't get better.

I'm not sure about Internet in trailers, but there is Internet in the MWR's there.I didn't actually live on Liberty, but I was on the same base.

I'm not on camp liberty but I'm on camp stryker which is attached to it. camp liberty is nice. they have a killer DFAC(chow hall), their MWR there is nice, its a pretty secure base. every once in a while a mortar will come in but its A LOT better than some FOBs I have been on this year. As far as internet in the trailers go they have wireless service there now so if he has a laptop or something that has wireless he'll be good to go. Camp Liberty is one of the best camps in Iraq. on the other hand camp stryker sucks bad. did they say he is going to liberty for certain or VBC(victory base complex)?

Security is tight, check points all around the camp. Depending on whats going on, you can hear gunfire etc. in the distance. She should be able to check her email, once or twice a week, and she will be able to call you. At least this what my cousin has told me, he is on his 3rd tour, spent 2 weeks at Camp Liberty as he was "passing through."
My prayers are with you and your wife...

my husband was over there last year and he was able to call me everyday. he also told me its way more secure than where he is right now. I dont think they had internet access in their rooms but then again its been almost a yr since he left that place.
