Well I consider myself a bit more creative and come up with my own curse words....hehehe! I'm just naughty that way! So the "God Damnit", usually never comes out of my mouth! :)

When they do so it is a result of social conditioning and nothing else. The term has unfortunately become rather common and people will pick it up like any other interjection.
This atheist does not use that term.

It's just a figure of speech, common to the dialect of most English speakers. Do theists really think they are commanding their deity to "damn" the object of the exclamation?

It is a joyous opportunity to disrespect a filthy and false faith. I still scream "Oh Jesus" when I fire the cannon. Why not? It becomes just another meaningless slang word.

We say it because it's a common swear word. We also often say bless you when someone sneezes. It's just because it's a usual thing to say.
