Tattoos are personal. Some have deep meaning, some don't...it all depends on the collector. Don't let anyone tell you what you should get or where. If you really want angels wings then that is what you should get. What I will recommend is that you take your time to decide exactly what YOU want. Find a good artist and bring him/her reference pics of the piece you want to have done. They will be able to created a custom piece that you will be proud to show off.

If you're going with the angel wings, it depends. First, how big you want the wings and secondly, if you want the wings to say something between them. Like for instance, this girl I knew wanted to get angel wings with the words "Trust Jesus" between them. Unfortunately, her back wasnt wide enough so the letters "TJ" could only fit between her wings. As for the fairy, I think the same rules apply as in how big you want the fairy and if you're into characters drawn on your back (or wherever you were planning to get the tattoo).

From a woman's perspective (I also have tattoos and my significant other works at a shop) I would say go with the Angel wings.
Do you know how many girls have tattoos of fairies? I would say go with the more original idea that means something to you. Even better, go into a shop and describe what you want to one of the artists and let them draw up something for you. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
p.s. I would be careful to take advice from someone who refers to women as "chicks" and cannot even spell the word "tattoo" correctly.

DO NOT let someone else decide what YOU will wear on your body the rest of your life.
Go into a shop and describe what you want to one of the artists and let them draw up something for you. You decide the colors, the shape the size. Tell the artist and they can do you something original.....
as far as your uncle - ignore all future requests to show him where you'd like a tattoo, or of what.
Follow your heart.

i've seen a few angel wings, and i've seen a lot of faeries. why not compromise and be unique? have your artist show you some possible designs for faerie wings. or if you're confident enough in your artist to get a big piece done, why not a larger faerie facing you laying down so you only really see her face and arms, and have her wings stretch to your shoulder blades

Don't let someone else tell you what tattoo to get. That's stupid. You have to live with it, not him. Let him get the fairy on his back if he likes it so much. A tattoo should be something that has a personal meaning to you. That's why most people later get them lasered off, because they got some stupid design because they wanted to be "cool". I have two and they both mean somethng personal to me and I'll NEVER regret getting them. if you're set on getting one, think long and hard about what you want. you may have to live with it forever. Picture yourself at 50, 60, 70 and think, "Will I be proud to have this on me at that age?"

i would NOT get a fairy. but that's just me. i had thought about getting wings once but i'm glad i didn't instead i got this:
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a326/brandimonkey/tattoo%20stuff/back2.jpg
and i love it. so whatever you want to get is great but remember that if you are going to get a tattoo on your back... make it a good one. the back is a great canvas but if you get something dumb or out of place, it won't look right.

You may not want to get a tat quite yet.
A tat is something you want to get for yourself, not because everyone around you is getting one. From what I read you are wanting a tat for attention, to be one of us. Not cool!
That petite body of yours wont be that way when you grow up, have a family of your own. What will your tat look like then? Think of the future...

Something like a Tinkerbell style faerie would look nice on a lady.
Once saw an art print of a faerie like that kneeling on a flower, was pretty neat. Real big tats don't really look good on ladies (to me at least)
