Are there preservatives in frozen food sold in grocery stores?

It depends on what frozen food it is. Frozen veggies and fruits I would say no. Frozen meals or convience foods I would say yes. The labels do tell you.

yep there sure is, in almost everything thats manufactured and frozen, the preservatives keep them looking & tasting the way they should.

ie: Try an experiment with a bag of fresh vegies and a bag of frozen vegies.
Put them both into the freezer until the use by date has expired on the frozen one.
Take them out and allow them to defrost...watch what happens..
