From being indirectley involved in a situation with the local and state law inforcement in Tennessee it's corrupt . I'm doing as much investigating as I have time for and I do mean to say the least , it's so corrupt I'd be afraid to take a problem to the F.B.I. in this state .These small towns makes the rules as they go . How or where do I go to get help to see that justice is served ? I have allready talked to , sheriffs , chief of police , T.B.I. county executer and a friend that's an attorney who gives me advice . From what I have seen so far is ,you either go with the flow or you don't have a snowballs chance in hell . My husband protected the good old U.S.A. for 20 years serving in the Army and being in 3 wars putting his life on the line for all of us . He reciently retired only to come home to this very situation I'm talking about and can't believe that this is reality . We need help not only in our town but the whole state . Corruption has taken it over !

I do believe the Attorney General of your state handles those matters.

The attorney general is the head of the state prosecution.

Each county sheriff is the head of the law enforcement in his county, there is no one over him, period, he can be removed only though conviction of a crime.

IN TN the TBI would be the ones to investigate county sheriff office or police dept if the chief is crooked.

But I also wonder what this corruption is, ?? since by and large most depatments are not corupt,

Now small towns are allowed to make thier own laws by the city counsel. Also if these laws effect your directly, you file a law suit against the officer and/or department

Contact as many people and agencies as possible. Shotgun effect. Contact enough people and somebody will help, if there is a valid complaint. Don't forget the media. Also check out copwatch.org

Don't be supprised if higher ups are not allready involved in invesitaging the corruption.

You can go to the FBI, call the Washington office and explain the situation. Mention your local FBI is involved as well and an outside investigator will be brought in. Sort of like the civil rights investigations in the 60's, they couldn't trust the locals so they brought in outsiders.
