Ok, so I am not getting hitched anytime soon but as I have reached the marrying age I have, naturally, begun to consider color/floral schemes. I'm not exactly a sugary pink kind of gal and would love to do black dresses for my wedding party but have opted for midnight blue instead so my mother wouldn't have a coronary. Along with these deep blue gowns I would want my flowers to be white daisies, yellow roses, and orange tiger lillies, with silver & blue accents.

Does that sound horrible? Oh, and for the record, I plan on scheduling a late October/Early November wedding once I get a ring around my finger.

For the record, my blue and silver accents I meant something along the lines of having my nosegay wrapped in deep blue ribbons with maybe a hint of silver glitter. I wasn't talking about the accents being IN the floral arrangements! And oh, the roses are a pale yellow. *nods*

I think that combination would be nice. Although you do not see a lot of dark blues as wedding colors, it would make your wedding stand out. I have seen some dark blue bridesmaid dresses, so it is not completely uncommon. Ultimately, it is all what you and your fiance decide once you get engaged. Everyone is going to have some opinion about your wedding, but just remember, it is all about you and your fiance. My fiance and I have gotten many opinions about some of our decisions for our wedding, but we realize that it is our day and we are not going to please everyone ... so why try. With your wedding being in the fall, I think the flower colors will help set the mood of the time of year and would really pop against the dark blue of the dresses. I can almost picture it now and I think if you have pictures outside of the church, it would make for a wonderful wedding picture that you can cherish for years to come. Good luck with the planning and finding the right guy to marry.

I think dark blue with silver and white accents would be perfect for a night wedding in October/November. However, I'm not sure about the yellow roses and orange tiger lillies with the blue. You could does a yellow/orange color scheme in the fall, but I wouldn't use the blue as an accent color.

I'm totally doing little black dresses for mine -- something the maids can wear again, for heaven's sake. I've even considered a dark navy wedding gown for myself, or something NOT white or ivory.

The only thing that sounds funny are the flowers. Yellow, orange, blue and silver -- I just can't picture that looking good. But maybe you've seen something that you like that had all those colors, so what do I know? But it seems to me that you'd be better, in November, doing all Fall colors -- maybe orange lilies, dark red gerbera daisies, coral roses, and dark chocolate brown dresses instead? Blue and silver seem more like December colors to me.

The orange and the dark blue set each other off in a very complimentary type of way. That and then to throw the lighter color in adds the subtlety. I think they sound wonderful- but I am not sure about the yellow. I think that would be changing it up a bit much.

You can also add a splash of color to the dresses by adding in that rich orange to the sash of the dresses. Nothing too extreme, just enough to set off the colors in a great contrast.

Great color for the season!

Wow this is kind of scary. I was reading what everone thought about the dark blue dresses with the white daisies and yellow roses. Most of them didnt like the idea.. Those are my colors for my wedding in June. I liked them together. To each their own.
Good luck!!

A dark blue for a wedding? That's more of a color of a funeral (no offense). Considering you want it to be a fall wedding, I would suggest a dark brown and a light brown. Or even fuschia and orange are new colors that are fun! Also, the mix of colors for the flowers are tacky. Simple is more. Go with one color like carnations or hydrangeas.

you should try a light blue for the weding and not the dark color! you can still have black dresses at your wedding as long as they have lace such as pink or white lace over it! try that since i have seen that in the latest wedding mags!or you can do white dresses with black accents-cream colors and such and it would be someting nice looking! as for the arrangements i would say to go with different shades of roses, and blue accents would work with that!
