I'm looking to buy drum sticks for my 14yo son. I don't know the first thing about choices, brands, etc. Apparently they come "electronic" so you don't require the entire drum set, but can play them most anywhere. Any suggestions or ideas greatly appreciated.

I think you can find these at Toys-R-Us. (the electronic ones) If you are looking for regular wood sticks, any music store will have many types to choose from. Personally, I always bought REMO brand sticks. Hope this helps!

i've never heard of or seen the "electronic drumsticks" and i've been drumming for quite a while. i'm not saying the don't exist, i just wouldn't buy them. The choice really revolves around what they will be used for. My first guess would be drumset, since you metioned it in your question. In my personal opinion, you want to get a stick with a wood tip, not nylon, and there's two main brand i'd buy: promark and vic firth. this link and this website are good places to research. i would say any of the models on this page would be a good choice, and you're looking at 6 pairs for 30 bucks +. A pretty good price, and 6 pairs should last a while. hope this helps.

verify with your community musicstore in the experience that they don't have an provide on "non kind" sticks. commonly you may purchase 10 or so, yet you shop plenty and this is worth it. All drumsticks spoil even the costliest ones, so i advise you in searching the most inexpensive you may for operating in route of

You should go to Guitar Center. I'm not sure where you live, but if you do have one where you live, go! It's not just guitars, it's all professional instruments. Or if you don't have one near you, just head to your local music store.
