Have him soak his feet in some warm soapy water. Make sure to wash real good between the toes. Do this every day, and ALWAYS wear clean socks. Also, get some spray on desinex. The heat he is feeling is the metobolic activity of bacteria feasting on dead skin cells on his feet. Been down that road, it comes with having sweaty feet. It might not hurt to wash feet in the middle of the day, and put on fresh socks. Good luck.
