Is it a process in which the cookware is made or just a name brand?

Thanks Lexi, I thought Iron Clad was also the name of the cookware, but it's All Clad.

It's when you take two layers of iron and bonded with a third layer of pure aluminum for maximum heat conductivity.

It literally means for something to be rock solid or solid as a rock

The impact of a word or a sentence in advertising can means the difference between selling out of the product or not selling any
of the product....

ie The company chose this name for their product to emphasise the strength & agility of their cookware etc... so people would have a fair idea how strong & resistant the products were capable of being even before seeing or handling them
Its all about advertising at the end of the day....
