How do you know when you lose your mucas plug?

It's a large boogery green and red glob of mucus. Most women do not loose it at once so they never noticeit. It just looks like a little discharge. Usually towrd the end of the pregnancy. i have 2 kids and my first one I lost it all at once- yuck! But, my second I never noticed it.

I happened to lose mine in the toilet with my first child. I saw a lump of mucus stuff with some blood in it.
