Take an egg, any egg will do usually a hens egg is best. You can use either a brown egg or a white egg for this culinary delight. Next select a pot or saucepan which is big enough for the egg to fit comfortably inside. Put some water into the pot then bring it to the boil (sometimes just for a change, I boil a kettle then pour it into the pot, instead of waiting for the pot to boil. It's best to use this method if you are in a hurry) Place your egg into the afore mentioned boiling water and allow it to simmer for anything between 5 to 10 minutes. Remove the egg from the pot, taking care not to burn your hands as it may be hot. Then you remove the shell from the egg by tapping it gently on the kitchen worktop or any other handy hard surface until it cracks, then peel it off. Add salt to your own taste and Voila! a delicious meal for 1 in under 15 minutes. You can also adapt this recipe for 2 people, by simply adding another egg to the pot at the same time as the original egg.

Steak Sandwich
1 large strip, round, or shell sirloin steak, weighing between 12 ounces and 1 pound
1/2 t. coarsely ground black pepper
Salt to taste
2-3 T. oil
2 T. chopped onion
4 oz. crimini mushrooms, cleaned and chopped
1/2 t. thyme
1 loaf French or Italian bread, or 1 Vienna loaf
3-4 T. prepared mustard
Trim any excess fat from the steak. Sprinkle both sides with pepper and salt, then brush with a tablespoon of the oil. Heat a cast-iron or nonstick pan and sear the steak about 2 minutes on each side. Remove from the pan. Cook the onion for 2 minutes in the remaining oil, then add the chopped mushrooms, sprinkling them with the thyme and a little salt. Cook, stirring, until they have softened. If the mixture dries out, add a tablespoon or so of water.
Cut a large piece of bread about 1 inch longer than the steak. (If you're using a Vienna loaf, you may not need to cut it at all.) Slice it lengthwise through the middle, leaving an uncut edge as a hinge. Spread both cut sides of the bread liberally with mustard. Now place the steak on the bottom half and scatter the mushroom mixture on top. Fold the top half of the bread down. Wrap the sandwich in two layers of plastic wrap. Take a long piece of string and tie the sandwich up tightly as if it were a parcel, knotting the string in several places. Put the sandwich on a plate and place another plate on top of it. Now weight it down with either cans of food or a bowl filled with water. Leave it for 8 hours or overnight in the refrigerator or other cold place. When you rescue it from the weights, it will be firm and flat. For serving, unwrap it and slice it on the diagonal so you have several strips, each about 3/4 to 1 inch wide. Arrange these on a platter with a bowl of relish or chutney to accompany them.

There a literally thousands of easy quick meals, each with their own slight variation on chicken beef, pork, and what not. I am not sure what amount of time you are looking for but to me a quick meal is something that takes 30 minutes or less for prep & cook. Tacos are always an easy favorite, I chop my veggies while I brown the ground beef or turkey and you can either heat your tortillas in a pan or several at a time in the microwave. You may want to try going to Kraft.com too, they have tons of quick meal ideas. Another excellent source if you have cable is try taping a few episodes of 30 minute meals, I believe it is on the Food Network. Rachel Ray, the host, even has at least one book out titled the same. Find something you like and change it up a little to make it your own. Don't be afraid to experiment and add spices. I have found that many of the Kraft recipes are kinda bland and need some extra pizaz. And don't forget that a boneless chicken breast only takes 20 minutes in the oven to cook, plenty of time to make a salad to go with it while it is cooking. Shake & bake is a great spice to add to your chicken for a change as well. Good luck and happy eating :)

honey Mustard Chicken Breasts With Basmati Rice.
I cheat and use Birds Eye Honey Mustard Chicken Breasts (Frozen). They take 25 mins in the oven then I get some Uncle Bens Microwave Basmati Rice and a Honey Mustard dressing (Made by Branston) warm it for a few sec in the microwave and drizzle it over the rice and chicken. Looks great, costs about £4 for 2 people and is really yummy.
Other than that a quick Spaghetti Bolognese is always a winner but theres always a few pots to wash!

Spag bol is always a good one, put a pan of spagetti on to boil, while that's cooking away fry some mince until it's brown then add a jar of dolmio (you could make the sauce from fresh but as you're in a hurry....) stir the sauce in and let it simmer. The whole thing should take you about 20 mins start to finish, you even have time to bung a frozen garlic bread in the oven, yum yum :)

Yes, not only Quick and Easy, but also impressive.
Get a variety of Veg, i would choose Asparagus, Baby Sweetcorn, Peppers, Tomato, mushrooms and drizzle with Olive oil, place in oven to Roast for approx 15-20 minuites.
Whilst that is cooking you can do a varity of things, fry a steak which has been peppered to serve with the warm salad?
Or my favourite cook up some pasta or Cous cous, drizzle with Basil oil, and place warm salad on top with a sprinkiling of Olives and Feta (you can mix pesto with pasta or just a bit of butter)
Why not butter some baguette abd rub with garlic cloves before toasting too?
Another really ridiculously easy and fun meal, is to take some ordnary shop bought Salsa, drizzle over Cool Doritos, sprinkle with cheese place in oven for 10 min, voi la! Really nice to sit and eat whilst watching a movie on a friday night!
Finally, invest in a steamer, place a piece of Salmon with thyme on the ottom tier then place various vegatables on the above plots, peas, asparagus, brocolli, carrots, whatever you like. It only takes about 10-15 min, and tastes so fresh, and steaming is the best way to retain Vegatables freshness!
For dessert why not melt a mars bar and place over Ice cream?
Or slice a banana along the side, fill with Vanilla and honey, of demmera suger and place in oven whilst you eat you meal on low!

Pasta Al'arrabiata - serves 2-3
Boil enough pasta for 2-3 people;
Cut two large unions into small cubes
And finely chop 1-2 pieces of garlic
Heat some olive oil in a frying pan and add the garlic when the oil is hot and stir for half a minute;
Add the onions and fry until they are slightly brown;
Then add one tin of chopped tomatoes or passata (I think it's about 500g); and half a tin(approx. 250ml) of water.
Also ad 1-2 tsp of oregano, or Italian herb mix and 1-2 tsp of ground red pepper, or cayenne pepper and salt and pepper to taste;
Stir thoroughly and bring to the boil. When it is boiling, cover the pan with a lid and reduce heat and let simmer for 5-10 mins, or until pasta is ready.
You can also add some ham or bacon cubes (250gr) before you add the tomatoes. If you use bacon though I would first rinse them under boiling water so that they are not so salty (unless you like salty of course).

Make some mashed potatoes while you pan fry some boneless pork chops. When the pork chops are cooked slice them bite size, and mix with some Cream of Mushroom soup over a medium heat. (Dilute the soup with milk to a consistancy you would like for gravy.) Serve the soup over the mashed potatoes, salad on the side, some corn is good also.
Super good, very filling, cheap, and easy.
And don't foget the childhood staple of tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.
Here are a couple more recipes, in case that doesn't suit you.

Noodles in a Pepper Sauce
Ingredients
100g noodles
nutritional yeast
soya milk
vegan margarine
salt and pepper
mustard
Cook the noodles as per the instructions on the packet and put aside. Melt two large knobs of margarine in a saucepan. Add ¼ pint of soya milk and 4 tablespoons of nutritional yeast. Stir the mixture until the yeast flakes have all dissolved. The sauce should be thickened and if it hasn’t then add some cornflour a spoonful at a time.
Then add salt and pepper (and mustard if desired). Keep tasting the sauce at this stage and add the seasonings in the quantity that you desire. Once it is to your liking add in the noodles and stir gently and thoroughly until they are all coated in sauce. Serve with a vegetable stir fry or steamed green vegetables.
