I know dry measuring cups can be used to scoop, while liquid measuring cups can easily pour. Aside from that, are the "measurments" the same? Can I use a liquid measuring cup to measure dry foods? I would see for myself but I don't have any dry measuring cups.

I tested this with MY measuring cups both liquid and dry. They are exactly the same!!!

You can simply compare yours and find out !

The amounts are exactally the same, but...
For the solids it is easier to get an exact measurement because you can run a knife over the top to get the full amount. If you used the liquid cup this is not possible. You will end up with too much or not enough.
For the liquids using the solid type you usually get not enough because you are trying to avoid spilling.
This is the reason there are 2 different types. They are tailored to get the exact amount of the substance used. It has nothing to do with the cups. They hold exactally the same amount, they are just used in different ways.

There are 16 tablespoons in a cup. If 16 tablespoons of flour fill your liquid measuring cup (to the 1-cup mark), then there you go.

I love baking, and I only have dry measuring cups, I use them for dry and liquid. I have never had a problem with it. Even with measuring spoons, I just use silverware. Works the same for me.

There really is a difference. Liquids are denser than solids, and so cannot be measured in the same quantity.
