I'm using a fall theme for my wedding in September and was thinking instead of spending alot on flowers, to use real leaves along with candle centerpieces on the tables. Does anyone think this is a good idea or not? I'm only wondering what other people would think while eating food with leaves at the table??

Congratulations!

I think it would work well. If you want a "cleaner" look - you could use faux leaves or rose petals. My sister in law was married this October and we had orange rose petals on the tables. We got more then 2000 fake rose petals for only $15 on ebay and used them for the tables, the flower girl, etc.

As long as the leaves are clean I dont see it as a problem but an even better idea would be to use fake ones! You can buy them at a craft store for VERY cheap and you get a big bag. Good luck! And congrats!

Ummm, I think it is a great idea! There may be one problem....leaves, in the fall, are very crunchy....they aren't the same textured as they are in the spring or summer. I would worry about the mess too much....people crunching leaves all over the place. You can get fake leaves to use.....like at a party store....they shouldn't cost much at all. CONGRATS!!

You would have to have the leaves in or on something, unless you use branches and have them in vases. A cousin of mine did a cool thing with leaves at her fall wedding - at the reception site they draped netting or tulle from the ceiling, it was white, and had the coloured leaves put in the swag parts of the tulle. It was really beautiful.
