I know this may sound funny but I'm being completely serious...

Does anyone know how to get all that lint stuff out of a hairbrush??

You know, the stuff that collects at the bottom of the bristles that's almost impossible to get off?! I've tried almost everything & nothing is working.....GRRR!

And no I am not worrying about the wrong things. I have dark hair so that lint stuff gets in it, is very visible & looks reeeaaaalllly bad.

I've tried using water in every way I can think of. I also don't use any styling products at all either so I know it's not that.

Have you tried scissors? Works on mine....or even tweezers? If not, try it...worth a try at least. Good Luck (and its not that funny or crazy...i hate when that happens too) !

I hate that stuff!!!!! Try using tweezers. I know it sounds like a lot of work but it's hard to find a good brush and it sucks when one gets all yucky. Also, I wash my hairbrushes with shampoo once a month and it really helps cut down on all the brush gunk.

First brush it vigorously with another brush to get as much of the hair off as possible. Then use your hands and get the straggle bits off with your fingers. Then soak the brush overnight (just the bristle end; put it in a plastic cup) in a WEAK bleach mixture...just a dash of bleach with water. In the morning, rinse your brush really well in cold water and let it air dry. It should be pretty darn clean. If this doesn't do it, then just buy another brush!

They have several products available that you can find in your local beauty supply....one named ship shape and another named brush delite both are really good products...but if you would rather use a "home remedy" you can add baking soda to hot water and soak....use atleast enough to cover all bristles.

Go to a Sally's beauty supply house (you don't need to be a stylist to buy there) and buy a product to clean hair brushes. It doesn't cost much and you can soak your brushes and combs in it and they'll come out nice and clean!

Take a skinny comb with long teeth and comb your brush. Then soak it in hot soapy water, power wash with a sink sprayer and let it air dry. That's what I always do...works great.

If you use gels, hairspays or mousse and that's on your brush, use a super degreaser soap like Ajax.

I wash my brush and comb everytime I shampoo my hair. I run the comb through the brush while it's wet and soapy. I do this a few times and it comes out clean, everytime.

UGH I hate that stuff. I've used a old tooth brush and dish soap to get it of. It doesn't always work. when it doesn't I toss the brush and buy a new one. :) Good luck!!

Often that is styling product build up. I fill the sink with warm water and a little shampoo and swish. Let air dry.
