Vista will have more features and better security (i would hope), but will I just be a guinnea pig for a new OS?

I'll prob keep my new lappy for 2-3 years, and probably won't bother changing the OS once I've got it.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

I wouldn't take it for a few reasons:
* You *WON'T* be able to downgrade to XP if you don't like it - unless you buy an extra copy of XP for a few hundred dollars.
* Vista is new; drivers and software may not be compatible
* Vista, in my experience (I tried the release candidate version) isn't really much of an improvement over XP.
* Vista has additional DRM controls and some worrying clauses in their activation agreements; these act to take control away from the computer owner. I, for one, would not agree to that, given a choice.

I recommend you consult from the placement you get carry of the workstation from. sign in your laptop on HP's web site and see if any suggestion pops up their. If no longer, touch HP. besides, there is not any longer something to get carry of. i would be getting a DVD whilst domicile windows 7 ships on the twenty 2d. desire this helps.

I wudent get it just yet as it will have soooo many bugs in and probably flaws although Microsoft may say it wont have any bugs in it will as all Microsoft products have bugs in!
Leave it a year or two and then get it as the price will be low, more software will work, bugs and flaws should be fixed, securtiy problems will be fixed.

I personally wouldn't because yes you would be a guinea pig and I read that it uses anywhere form 256-512mb of memory. That is half of what most computers are equipped with.
