ok i defrosted some steak they're dark in color but theres blood coming out of them are they still good?

Yes, I think they are still good. I always us the nose test, if it smells good,it probably is good. Really meat doesn't have much smell if it's good. If it's not, you will be able to tell. The blood is nothing to worry about, but if you like you could rinse it off with cold water, but you don't have to do this.

That is quite natural if the steak has been promptly frozen and kept that way until defrosted. Cook it right up.

If the meat didn't get above 55-ish for any extended period of time while sitting...it's probably pretty good.

Does it smell bad? Blood coming out of it is natural...the blood freezes and then thaws like most liquids.

If you put them in the freezer in a timely manner when you bought them, and defrosted them today, sure! Cook those suckers up today!

They might have freezer burn if you kept them in there too long; however, this only affects the taste of the meat, not the health of it.

there is supposed to be blood coming out of them.. it's uncooked meat.

if there wasn't any blood coming out of them - then you would have something to worry about.

as long as there is no smell coming from them they are fine.

i would smell it to see if it smelt bad if it did i would then through it away. if it smells fine then i would cook it up and enjoy.
