I currently run a cable TV hookup through a VCR which allows me to watch it through a TV and keep a DVD hooked up to the same TV. Are there any DVD players built with this function of allowing input (like VCRs do) so that you can use them as receivers to run a cable connection through the way that you can with VCRs?

No, because they do not have a receiver. They are designed as
a source. If you want an input for a DVD player, you need to get
a DVD recorder or one with a built-in hard drive -and voila!

Only DVD recorders or DVD player/VHS recorders will have these. A dvd player does not need any input to the device from other sources to be able to function fully. The point of being able to run your cable box through a VCR is to serve as a tuner and to be able to record that device.

Since a normal DVD player does not record and does not have any built in tuning capabilities you will not see these have external inputs.

A DVD recorder can record off other inputs and some include a tuner similar to a VCR. When you look at the backs of these devices you will at least see a composite(yellow) video input with stereo audio input. In addition you may see S-video inputs, Component inputs(rare) and RF inputs(cable box).

No.

The reason VCRs accept an input is because they can record directly from the cable box. Since a DVD player doesn't record it has no need of an input ... only various types of output (composite, component, optical etc.).

A DVD RECORDER will accept an input from a cable box.

DVD players are only input devices. However,It is possible to connect your cable thru DVD/VCR combos which has coaxial input. If you have a standard tube TV, you may connect it that way,the quality of picture will be OK but if you have a big screen Plasma,LCD or a Projection TV,You may not like picture quality which will significantly deteriorate

I'm not sure 100% what you question is but...
every DVD player has a COAX port.
From there you can either use COAX out to tv or vcr...
or RCA cables (red white & yellow) to VCR or tv...
The DVD player will act just like a splitter would and just make the connection like a pass through.

i might want to upload both HDMI and ingredient. you want to make constructive that your Denon can do the video conversion for you for the ingredient sources, or you may want to choose each and every of the video source kinds to have a computer screen cable. in the destiny you may want to opt for to modify the receiver and then you'll use the HDMI. I even believe in the subsequent guy and destiny proofing the set up. each and every of those RCA's are coax and could be re-purposed if sufficient length is left over. i might want to also upload ethernet besides.
