Yes, she can use your XP disk.

However, she will most likely need her own XP registration code in order to validade with Microsoft.

Good luck

Legally, no. And if you try it, it's possible that the "installation verification process" will de-activate the old copy on your computer. Unfortunately, she will have to buy a new copy of XP... another thing she can try is to contact the store where she bought the laptop, and see if they will help her get replacement disks.

By the way, are you college students? Often, college campuses offer GREAT discounts on Microsoft products. I got XP for $80 or something... MUCH better than $300 at the electronics store. Good luck!

EDIT: the above answerer is correct ... if she has her registration codes then she is fine, she can use your disk.

I she needs replacement disks, dont go to the store unless they still have the model laptop on display.
In which case youll have to smooze one of the sales people to either lend it to her, or give it to her.
Most of those geeks wil fall for a little flirtation.

otehrwise, best to go to the manufacturers customer service and have them mail you out a new set. $30-$35 bucks last I checked

If you go to the store you bought it at, they'll just tell you to go to the manufacturer.

She can use yours, but windows will stop working after some time as it needs to be registered as her own.. and she cant do that cos its already registered in your name.
